Gabo's work explores the boundaries between perception, identity, and illusion, interrogating from the outset the figure of Narcissus and the ways in which we construct and deconstruct the sense of self. From his cube to investigations into the devices of vision, his approach combines formal rigour and philosophical friction.
The encounter with superoby, a brand built on artisanal quality, upcycling ethics, and essential aesthetics, stems from a deep affinity: both believe that the objects we wear are never neutral, but carriers of meaning, tools through which we communicate – consciously or not – who we are or who we believe ourselves to be. A natural convergence.
REFLECTIONS is the first chapter of an artistic project that uses the language of fashion to dismantle our relationship with the ego. Through texts readable only when facing a reflective surface, the garment becomes an optical and cognitive device.
REFLECTIONS offers no answers: it opens a breach. An invitation to confront contemporary narcissism byliterally placing it before the mirror, generating a brief short-circuit between projected identity and perceived identity.
